40" Chinese War Sword with Leather Sheath

The dadao (大刀; literally "big knife") is one of the varieties of dao or Chinese saber, and can also be known as the Chinese great sword or Chinese War Sword.

This Chinese War Sword is over 3 feet in length and weighs just over 3 pounds with a 10 inch black cotton cord wrap, traditionally done by hand, and is accompanied by a genuine leather sheath, with black leather accents, for protection when not in use.

Based on agricultural knives, Chinese War Swords have long hilts meant for "hand and a half" or two-handed use, and generally a weight-forward balance. Some were made for military use, but they were most commonly associated with civilian militias or revolutionaries.

During Operation Nekka the Chinese claim that whenever they had a chance for close engagement, the Chinese War Sword was so deadly that they could cut off the heads of Japanese soldiers with ease.
